Welcome to my new blog entitled: Lady and Her Body
After reading the assignment expectations for Digital Rhetoric this week, I began rapidly thinking of social issues. What bothers me? What do I feel strongly about?
I have formulated opinions about many social issues. I hate to be controversial, so I chose a topic that I felt would be most practical, and beneficial health-wise.
I am supportive of birth control, which can be an issue among many. Many organizations, individuals, and politicians do not agree with birth control. Many find birth control to be morally wrong.
I disagree. I firmly believe that if an individual is going to have sex, he or she may as well be safe about it.
Without use of birth control, or proper use for that matter, pregnancies become "accidental".
I would like to cover issues on this blog regarding birth control by covering ideas and topics. These topics are open to discussion and I would love for members of the class to weigh in. I am always open to discussion and other opinions! I would like for this discussion to remain friendly and open.
The topics are:
2. Religious and political views on birth control
3. Teen Pregnancy
3. Teen Pregnancy
4. Making birth control available to those in need of it
5. Organizations that promote safe sex
6. Abortion numbers shrink... (ideally)

I hope to get through all of these topics regarding birth control and the positive effects it can have.
This blog will contain much of my opinion supported by other sites. I will also use sites to show opposite opinions.

Hi Jaclyn: Catchy title and simple navigation to state and support your opinions. Great Job! I agree with birth control, but don't like the side-effects that often accompany it. However, I guess it comes down to which is more important, or worth the risk. We often assume everyone is capable of making sound decisions in the "moment." Unfortunately, other life challenges draw us in, which can be a gateway to unprotected sex. One act can last a lifetime.-Jeremiah Sprague from Class.

DeleteI completely agree with you. Weighing the risks is definitely involved. I sometimes think that because Europeans are so much more laid back regarding birth control, they are able to talk about it more comfortably. Maybe that's an idea that we must implement? Could this be worked on through social media!? Maybe a campaign with a strong message through a Youtube video? I will have to look into what is already out there!
